INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER – PULP AND PAPER

Cardboard Factory in Poland

The production of cardboard requires the use of organic and chemical raw materials. This produces a diversely contaminated wastewater. The factory has its own treatment plant.

The Problem

The main problem was to keep the effluent within the specified consent parameters. Also, excessive foaming led to blockages to the incoming air-vents.

The Solution

Our Local Distributor was called in to inspect the plant. He found there was limited biological activity within the secondary (biological) treatment area. He recommended dosing EnBac^® B570 at an increased dosage rate in order to allow the factory to meet the effluent consent levels.

The Results

Biological treatment was renewed within the secondary treatment area. Foaming was reduced to a level considered appropriate and manageable by the plant operators. Once consent levels were met, the dosage was reduced to a Maintenance Dose. EnBac^® B570 is still regularly used at the factory as a booster to the biological process.
