RECOMMENDED PRODUCT ENBAC® B120
This wastewater treatment plant has a flowrate of 220 litres per second (lps). The plant was designed to pump effluent straight from the scum pits directly into the anaerobic digesters. This effluent contained a high proportion of Fats, Oils and Greases (FOG) which gradually built up over the years, reducing the efficiency of the digester and reducing the quantity of methane produced.
We recommended the addition of EnBac® B120 into the scum pits in order to liquify and degrade the FOG in the effluent being pumped into the digester. This liquified effluent was then in a state that was much easier for the digester to digest further. EnBac® B120 also helped to reduce Total Volatile Solids in the digester.
Visibly, there are fewer clumps of FOG in the digester. Methane production has returned to levels achieved when the digester was originally installed.
