EnBac® B350 – HYDROCARBON CONTAMINATION
EnBac® B350 is a powder containing a specially-formulated range of micro-organisms, which bioremediates hydrocarbon-contaminated land.
EnBac® B350 CONTAINS
High performance aerobic and facultative anaerobic micro-organisms
Specific micro-nutrients for hydrocarbon contaminated land (including trace metals, vitamins, amino acids and metabolic stimulants)
Macro- nutrients – essential to the balanced growth of the micro-organisms
Bio-enhancer
HOW IT WORKS
The micro-organisms in EnBac® B350 will form a biomass in the soil. The micro-organisms will then produce enzymes which go to work on the hydrocarbon based compounds in the soil. The end products are CO2 and H2O.
There is no standard protocol for the bioremediation of contaminated soils. However there are several guidelines which should be followed to obtain the best possible degradation of any organic contaminants.
B350 may be added to soil that has been mechanically lifted to form “Windows” or “Biopiles”. The biopiles should be built in lifts of 30cm and bacteria and nutrients added to each lift to allow a good supply of oxygen to the micro-organisms.
Alternatively, B350 may be tilled or ploughed into the soil.
B350 may also be added to liquids or gels and directly injected into the ground.
It is likely that a specialist Land Remediation Contractor is involved in the application of EnBac® B350 to contaminated soils. We recommend that a specialist contractor is consulted on each specific site.
THE EFFECTS OF USING EnBac® B350
B350 deep cleans soils.
B350 can be used in situ. There is no need to use lorries to remove the soil to a separate site.
B350 is a natural product to deal with contamination. Bio-remediation is the most environmentally-friendly method of remediation.
Bioremediation is generally slower than treatment with chemicals, but is also generally a more cost effective option.
